At the base of the 13th-century Minster in Roermond, we find the Munsterplein. It was decided in 2019 that the square would be renewed. And today, even a month earlier than planned, the renewed Munsterplein was officially opened. At first glance, little seems to have changed and that’s because the historical character of the square has been preserved. Despite the reuse of the old cobblestones, the walkability of the square has drastically improved. Also, the recognizable kiosk is still adorning the square. The new tree bench, on the other hand, stands out immediately. ANAE designed and made this special bench. Starting point of the design with the deep seat, was to create the illusion that the bench floats above the ground.
